The Maccabi Haifa Israeli professional basketball team today announced that they have appointed Amit Ben David as Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Ben David, 41, spent 22 seasons playing professionally in Israel, including serving as a point guard for Maccabi Haifa from 2008 to 2010. After retiring from professional basketball in 2017, he immediately joined Hapoel Tel Aviv as an assistant coach, serving in that role from 2017 to 2019.

“We are happy to welcome Amit back to Maccabi Haifa,” said Team Owner, Jeffrey Rosen. “His experience, both on the court and on the sidelines, will help our team in the upcoming season.”

“Amit Ben David is a great addition to our staff,” said Head Coach, Daniel Seoane. “He has a lot of experience, knows the league very well, and will provide valuable insights and knowledge to us all.”

A native of Kfar Saba, Amit Ben David was widely regarded as one of the most intelligent and consistent players in Israeli basketball during his playing days. In addition to his coaching experience in the Premier League, Ben David serves as an assistant coach for the U16 National Team.
