Greens come up short in Herzliya, drop two games behind Nahariya with two games remaining
Maccabi Hunter Haifa suffered a serious blow to their chances of remaining in the Premier League after falling to Bnei Herzliya, 78-64, on Monday night in Herzliya. Maccabi will have to win their last two games against Gilboa/Galil on the road, and Hapoel Holon at home, and Ironi Nahariya will have to lose both of their games against Maccabi Ashdod and Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The Greens trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half, but managed to trim the deficit to just two points, 60-58, midway through the fourth quarter. However, Haifa’s momentum dissipated as the Greens shooting turned ice cold — allowing Herzliya to use a 10-0 run to take a substantial lead, 73-60. Haifa wasn’t able to recover as the Greens succumbed to Herzliya, 78-64.
