The Maccabi Hunter Haifa professional basketball team of the Israeli Super League announced today that they have signed guard Oded Brandwein through the remainder of the 2017-18 season with a team option for the 2018-19 season. The club also released guard Guni Israeli. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Brandwein, 30, appeared in 12 games (two starts) for Rishon LeZion this season, while posting averages of 4.6 points and 1.8 assists in 11.8 minutes per game. Last season with Rishon Lezion, Brandwein shot 46.8 percent (15-for-32) from three-point range in 13 regulars season games.
The 5-foot-11 guard has played for six teams over a span of six seasons in the Israeli Super League. He spent three seasons playing in Poland’s top division from 2011-2014.
A native of Petah Tikva, Israel, Brandwein also holds Polish citizenship.
Israeli, 33, appeared in 14 games (two starts) for Maccabi Hunter Haifa this season and averaged 3.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 16.4 minutes.
