Maccabi Hunter Haifa, the 2016-17 Israeli Basketball Super League runner-up, announced today that they have signed Jewish-French guard Frederic Bourdillon for the 2017-18 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bourdillon, 26, spent the past three seasons with Sharks Antibes (two in France ProA and one in France ProB). In two seasons in France ProA with Antibes, Bourdillon appeared in a combined 68 games while posting averages of 3.6 points (29.6 percent from three-point range), 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 15 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-4 guard helped guide Antibes during the 2014-15 season to a promotion to France’s top division after appearing in 41 games while tallying 5.3 points (41.2 percent from three-point range) and 2.2 assists in 15.3 minutes per game.
A native of Grasse, France, Bourdillon represented France in the 2015 World University Games, recording 5.3 points and 2.7 assists in 14.7 minutes in 6 games. He has made Aliyah — becoming an Israeli citizen — for the upcoming season.
