Four of the Greens’ players Chanan Colman, Rene Rougeau, Oz Blayzer and John DiBartolomeo visited Megido Helipad today (Thursday) for a special Purim event, organized by the Hayim Association. The Hayim Association has been operating for more than 30 years in order to enhance the quality of medical care for children with cancer throughout the country.
“The Maccabi Haifa Basketball team came to make children, who are fighting cancer, happy, on our traditional event to celebrate Purim,” Avshalom Cohen, chairman of Hayim Association said. “The kids were thrilled with the lovely gesture, took photos and danced with the players.”
The Greens came with costumes and with gifts from the club and their main sponsor Hunter. As part of the activity, the players went on a short flight on a plane with the kids and their families. While on the ground, they enjoyed several activities, including dancing, make-up and art work.
“It was a great activity. First of all, it’s always a pleasure to put a smile on the kids’ faces and interact with them,” Captain Chanan Colman said. “This activity for the kids was very special. Putting people in private planes, showing them the landscape is pretty impressive.”
