Maccabi Hunter Haifa players and staff visited the Isfiya Basketball School on the Carmel Mountain.
At the beginning of the visit, the team arrived at the local basketball school’s gym, which was established 12 years ago, and divided into two schools; the Isfiya School of Samikh and the Dalyat El Carmel school of Ashraf. 350 kids play in the school, between ages 6-16 years-old.
The activity started with vice chairman Arnon Shiran speaking about the team’s community initiatives. Right after, the players and the kids divided into stations, each station was highlighted by a different activity, guided by the Green players. At the end, a scrimmage against their adults team was held, and during the timeouts, the players competed in several contests. The game finished in a 41-41 tie, but the locals eventually won after they scored first from half court. Maccabi wasn’t led by coach Rami Hadar, but by center Reggie Buckner, who showed leadership.

“I am thankful to the Maccabi Hunter Haifa Basketball club for their warm hugs for Isfiya’s basketball kids. If it’s by inviting them to their games, or by coming for a visit here, it gives added value for the basketball here and makes the kids aspire to be better and reach the highest level. I would like to personally thank Arnon, Ido and Nurit, for their help and their warm care for our club during the year,” Samikh Kayuf, school’s Manger said.
