As part of the cooperation between Maccabi Bazan Haifa and Uki Lev, manager of Variety Israel in the north, the team hosted on Sunday’s game against Maccabi Tel Aviv a child from Variety, Itai, a 13-year-old suffering from Cerebral Palsy, who was escorted by the 2012 Beauty Queen Shani Hazan. “On behalf of Variety Israel, their families and myself, I would like to thank Maccabi Bazan Haifa, the management and the staff who allowed us to sell the Golden Heart pin in the game and help us raise the awareness of the fans of our initiative. Because all of that we felt like home in Romema, Thank You!”, said Lev.
Itai opened the new Heart of Gold pin sale on behalf of all the Variety kids.
In an emotional ceremony at the beginning of the game, the team’s Captain, Dagan Yivzori bought, on behalf of the team, the new heart of gold pin from Itai, who received a tremendous amount of support from the fans.
Shani Hazan and Variety volunteers walked around the stands and sold many pins to Maccabi Haifa fans.
The contributions raised at the game will help Variety Israel benefit hundreds of families with children with special needs.
“We are happy that we were able to help Variety Israel raise funds in a game where the fans filled the arena. Those kinds of partnerships are very important to us, as part of our community activity, which we do throughout the season”, said the vice chairman of Maccabi, Arnon Shiran.
