The Greens rallied tonight in Ramat Gan after digging themselves into an early hole. Team captain Dagan Yivzori took his team on his shoulders scoring 36 points (tied a career-high) on 6-of-9 from downtown, sparking a Haifa comeback en route to a close 86-82 win on the road. The Greens’ Hector Hernandez notched 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Jeff Allen crashed the boards with 9 caroms and chipped in 12 points.
After trailing by 10 points at the half 43-33, Haifa came out on fire thanks to Dagan’s 20 points in the third quarter, pulling ahead by as much as 13 points over Ramat Gan. The fourth quarter started well for Haifa with a 10-0 run, however, the home team would not go down without a fight, closing within 2 points with :10 left in regulation. In a dramatic finish, the Greens held on for the win after Yivzori iced the game on the foul line.
