Maccabi Bazan Haifa, the 2013-14 Israeli Basketball Super League runner-up, announced today they have re-signed guard Liraz Ariely for the 2014-15 season.
“Liraz is an excellent example of our goal as an organization in the last few years to sign young, talented, and local players on our professional team,” said Maccabi Bazan Haifa’s vice chairman Arnon Shiran. “We are happy that Liraz will continue with us for another season. His strong character along with his shooting ability will help him to integrate into the team in the long run.”
Ariely, 21, is a native of Haifa, who grew up in the Maccabi Haifa youth department. The 6-foot-1 guard appeared in 15 games last season for Maccabi Haifa. In 2012-13 season, he played for Hapoel Afula in the Israeli second division and averaged 7.3 points (36.8% from 3 points range), 1.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals In 28 games.
