The Maccabi Haifa Professional Basketball Club announced the signing of Israeli power forward/center Jonatan Mor to a 2-year deal through the 2020-21 Season.
Mor, 24, played the 2018-19 season for Elitzur Kiryat Ata in Israel’s Ligat Leumit. The 6-foot-9 big man averaged 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting nearly 50% from 2-point range and over 34% from behind the arc. Mor, known for his basketball intelligence and ability to stretch the floor, is entering his 5th professional season.
“Jonatan is an excellent young player and reaffirms our commitment to the development and promotion of the rising generation of Israeli players,” said Team Owner, Jeffrey Rosen.
“Jonathan Mor is a very versatile young big man. I have been following him for the last few seasons and I think he’s ready to take a leap forward in the first division,” said Head Coach, Daniel Seoane.
Mor, a native of Ramat Gan, Israel, has spent his whole career in Israel. In addition to his time with Elitzur Kiryat Ata, he has played in the top flight of Israeli basketball, Ligat Ha’al, with Hapoel Holon, Bnei Hertzeliya, and Hapoel Tel Aviv. Mor comes off a strong season in Ligat Leumit, where he earned All-League Honorable Mention honors.
