Box Score

Maccabi Hunter Haifa suffered a serious blow to their chances of remaining in the Premier League after falling to Bnei Herzliya, 78-64, on Monday night in Herzliya.  Maccabi will have to win their last two games against Gilboa/Galil on the road, and Hapoel Holon at home, and Ironi Nahariya will have to lose both of their games against Maccabi Ashdod and Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The Greens trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half, but managed to trim the deficit to just two points, 60-58, midway through the fourth quarter.  However, Haifa’s momentum dissipated as the Greens shooting turned ice cold — allowing Herzliya to use a 10-0 run to take a substantial lead, 73-60.  Haifa wasn’t able to recover as the Greens succumbed to Herzliya, 78-64.

Oz Blayzer and Brandon Bowman paced the Greens with 10 points apiece, while Angel Rodriguez (5 assists) and Dagan Yivzori scored 9 points each in the loss.  Zach Graham scored 8 points and pulled down 6 boards, and Daniel Koperberg chipped in 6 points and 6 boards in 14 minutes.  Roi Huber snared 7 rebounds and recorded 3 points while dishing out 4 assists.  The Greens had a rough shooting night, connecting on only 37 percent (19-for-51) attempts from the field.

Herzliya was led by Shawn Dawson who dropped 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.  Jeff Adrien recorded a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Aviram Zelekovits added 15 points on 3-of-3 shooting from downtown.
