Maccabi Haifa (7-14) will close out the second round of the Winner League on Monday against Hapoel Jerusalem (13-8) at Romema. Tip-off is scheduled for 19:05.
The Greens will look to repay the Reds from the capital after a painful 84-79 defeat back on January 4th – a game in which Haifa relinquished a lead in the final quarter. Maccabi held on for a victory over Gilboa/Galil last week, while the Reds earned an impressive 88-86 win over Hapoel Holon on the road.
New acquisition Oded Brandwein will be registered for Monday’s contest for the Greens.

Last week, Maccabi achieved an important win, 98-95, over Hapoel Gilboa/Galil at Romema. The Greens climbed above the red line, dropping Ironi Nahariya to last place. Captain Oz Blayzer was perfect from the field, dropping 25 points. Although he slowed down in the second half, during “Money Time” Blayzer helped seal the Green victory. Trevor Gaskins (17 points) also contributed important baskets during the decisive moments.
Offer Rahimi: “The game against Hapoel Jerusalem is a tough challenge. I hope we will be able to achieve another win and make our fans happy for the holiday.”
Daniel Koperberg: “We’re expecting a tough game tomorrow, but at home, in front of our fans, we can beat any team. We will come with energy and focus to fight for the win.”
The last time the Reds from Jerusalem visited Romema on February 19, 2017, the Greens earned an impressive 86-69 victory. Maccabi jumped on the guests from the opening tip, but unlike quite a few games last season, they managed to overcome a mini-comeback in the second quarter and closed the game in the second half. Orlando Mendez-Valdez led five Green players in double-figures with 17 points on a stellar shooting night (5-of-6 from 3PT), and Oz Blayzer reached 1,000 career points.
