Key to the Game: Accuracy
If Offer Rahimi’s Greens are going to overcome Spahija’s Yellows, they will have to start hitting their shots. In the last game at Ness Ziona, Maccabi shot 26 attempts from the foul line, but netted only 13 — a season-low. Maccabi also suffered from forgettable night from long distance — shooting a season-low 11.1 percent (2-of-18).
Home Court Advantage
In their last three league home games against the Yellows, the Greens have registered two wins —including the historic 91-56 victory during the 2015-16 season. In the first round of this season, Maccabi traveled to Tel Aviv and played tough for three quarters, but eventually fell, 83-62.
“Of course, we are going to have a difficult game, but we believe that we can win against anyone at home,” said Dagan Yivzori who is 4 points shy from reaching 2,000 points in his career. “In order to win, we will have to be aggressive like last game, but more accurate on offense.”
Yellows Scouting Report
As mentioned, the Yellows suffered a loss in their last game, but are still leading the league. Four players on the team are averaging in double-figures — Pierre Jackson leads the team with 13.4 points and 5.7 assists per game. The leading Israeli is Green’s former star, John DiBartolomeo, who is averaging 10.3 points in 25.6 minutes per game.
