Maccabi Hunter Haifa players, Zach Graham and Gal Baruch, took time out on Thursday morning to visit Ibn Gabirol Special Education School in Haifa.
The Ibn Gabirol School is a special education school for middle and high school children. The Greens had an opportunity to speak with the students and gave them some basketball tips in the school playground.
Graham and Baruch were introduced to the children in one of the classrooms as the students posed many questions. Graham was asked by one student about combining basketball and studies during college. He replied that in college there is a great deal of emphasis on studies. If the athletes’ grades are not good enough, then they will not be eligible to play, so it’s important to invest time in studying.
“We met very interesting children who wanted to know more about the career of professional basketball players,” Baruch said. “There visit was an enjoyable activity for both us and the students.”
“I want to thank Maccabi Hunter Haifa from the bottom of my heart. It was very important that the students had the opportunity to meet with the Maccabi players,” said Yifat, the School Principal. “I was pleased that the students expressed curiosity and asked many questions about the challenges faced by professional athletes in particular and adult life in general.”
