Maccabi Hunter Haifa, the 2016-17 Israeli Super League runner-up, announced today that they have signed center Daniel Koperberg to a contract through the 2019-20 season. The team also announced that they have agreed to terms with Hapoel Afula, allowing Koperberg to play in the second division for the remainder of the season under a double-ticket.
“We are excited about extending Daniel’s contract,” said Maccabi Hunter Haifa team owner, Jeff Rosen. “Daniel has great potential and having him get minutes in the second division is critical for his development. We view Daniel as an important part of our foundation going forward.”
Koperberg, 20, is in his third season with Maccabi Hunter Haifa and is averaging 2.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 8.2 minutes over 10 games in 2017-18.
The 6-foot-9, 233-pound center grew up in the Maccabi Haifa youth club, and is a native of Haifa, Israel.
