The Maccabi “Bazan” Haifa professional basketball team of the Israeli Basketball Super League have released point guard Jermaine Jackson, Vice Chairman Arnon Shiran announced today.

Maccabi “Bazan” Haifa Releases Jermaine Jackson

HAIFA, Israel, March 10, 2012 – The Maccabi “Bazan” Haifa professional basketball team of the Israeli Basketball Super League have released point guard Jermaine Jackson, Vice Chairman Arnon Shiran announced today.

Jackson, 35, played in 13 games this season with Maccabi “Bazan” Haifa, averaging 9.9 points and 5.6 assists in 36.1 minutes per game. Jackson, who re-signed with the team on November 15, 2011, appeared in 27 regular season games over the past two seasons with Maccabi “Bazan” Haifa.

“We would like to thank Jermaine Jackson for his time with Maccabi ‘Bazan’ Haifa over the past two seasons,” said Triangle Chairman and Maccabi “Bazan” Haifa owner Jeffrey Rosen. “Based on the team’s current situation, we felt we needed to move in a different direction in order to give the younger players the opportunity to showcase their potential.”

The 6-foot-5 guard, a native of Detroit, M.I., played five seasons in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons (1999-00), Toronto Raptors (2001–02), Atlanta Hawks (2002-03), Toronto Raptors (2002-03), New York Knicks (2004-2005) and Milwaukee Bucks (2005-06), averaging 1.9 points, 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 135 career games.
